Tiger Tao wins 2021 Young Scientist of the Year Award from Chinese Academy of Sciences
On January 20, the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced the recipients of the 2021 Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award, Young Scientist of the Year Award, Scientific Facilitation Award, Scientific Individual of the Year Award and Scientific Team of the Year Award. Tiger Tao, Investigator of the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Investigator of Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute (TCCI), and founder of brain computer interface start-up, NeuroXess, was named 2021 Young Scientist of the Year.
In January this year, Tao’s NeuroXess, received a total of 97 million yuan (about US $15 million) in an angel round and Pre-A round funding, led by Shanda Group and Sequoia Capital China. The company currently has about 30 employees.
