Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited (Nasdaq:SNDA) (dba “Shanda”) is a leading interactive entertainment media company founded in 1999 in China. It offered a broad range of entertainment content on an integrated service platform to a large, diverse user base. Shanda offered high quality entertainment content through its subsidiaries and affiliates including Shanda Internet Development Company, Shanda Games, Cloudary (formerly known as Shanda Literature), Ku6 Media and other online community and business units.
The company’s broad variety of content ranged from massively multi-player online role-playing games (MMORPGs), advanced casual games, social networking games, esports. literature, television, music. and video. By providing a centralized platform through which Shanda could deliver its own content as well as third-party content, Shanda allowed its users to interact with thousands of other users while enjoying some of the best entertainment content available in China.
