Shanda Helps Lending Club Unlock Value with Bank Acquisition

Shanda was able to help Lending Club in their acquisition of Radius Bancorp, a step which puts Lending Club on track for an official bank charter. To smooth the transaction, Shanda agreed to trade its 22% stake in the company for nonvoting shares and was paid $50.2 million as part of the deal.
